Clarion Hotels Ireland was established in 2001. Existing properties include the Clarion Hotel Dublin IFSC, Clarion Hotel Dublin Liffey Valley, Clarion Hotel Dublin Airport, Clarion Hotel Limerick and Suites on the Ennis Road, Clarion Hotel Cork, and Clarion Hotel Sligo. Clarion in partnership with Hugh O’Regan also hold the management contract for the country’s leading design hotel, the Morrison and Clarion will shortly open Carton House Resort, set to be one of the finest resorts in Europe.

This year the Clarion hotels successfully acquired The Croydon Park in London. We are now the fastest growing Irish-owned 4* hotel operator group in the country, with a total of ten prestigious properties including the (Croyden, UK) and our flagship and award winning hotel in Dublin’s IFSC.

Carton House Resort

Our second managed hotel, Carton House Golf and Spa Resort with the well known Montgomerie and O’Meara golf courses, opened in June 2006. The hotel itself with the magnificent Great House - Carton House has 18 individual suites plus the new addition of 147 bedrooms tastefully furnished and offering our guests a link between tradition and contemporary styles.

Clarion Ireland branch out into the UK

Clarion Hotels Ireland have acquired their first UK property – Croydon Park Hotel, in London. They are now operating this property as part of the 4* Clarion brand, the tenth hotel in the Irish-owned group. The existing property which opened in 1984 has 212 bedrooms and is located in the centre of Croydon, which is situated halfway between Gatwick Airport and London city centre.

The London hotel will be managed by the existing Clarion team under Brendan Curtis, Chief Operating Officer for Choice Hotels Ireland, who stated: “We have been contemplating a venture into the UK for some time now and are delighted with our first acquisition here in Croydon. We’re still looking at a number of other sites and hope to be able to announce our next UK property in the near future.”
